I have used Yellowdog and found it to be a great distro. However, I am not a big Red Hat fan and Yellow dog is based on Red Hat. I instead use the PowerPC port of Debian. I cannot rave about it enough. Having that huge library of applications available through apt on Mac Debian is just awesome. If you have never tried to build apps on a Mac Linux distro yet, you will find that it is not always an easy task as many have been designed around the x86 architecture and can require alot of tweaking...
